freqwnt explores interdependence and attentiveness among performers. It aims to cultivate a state of shared presence and alignment amongst an entanglement of rhythmic connections. The piece draws on rhythmic ideas shared between the traditional music of the Ewe people of Ghana and experimental rock forms such as math rock and post-rock, incorporating layered repetition, odd-metered polyrhythmic interplay, and evolving grooves. Each voice expresses as both assertive and sensitive, balancing intention and awareness in pursuit of a tethered momentum and the joy of connection.
